Georgia State's and Kennesaw State University’s basketball programs both travel abroad this month. The Panthers’ tour next week will mark the program’s first international competition, while KSU’s trip to Canada on Friday will mark its first since 2005.

After playing five games in six days in Canada, Kennesaw State's men's basketball team returned home to continue making preparations for the upcoming season.

With Georgia Tech leaving us wondering as to whether it’s an NCAA Tournament team, and Georgia needing a series of upsets in the SEC tourney to gain admittance to the national party, is it possible that Kennesaw State will be our shining light?

You can't blame Kennesaw State coach Tony Ingle if he feels as if he has been wandering in the basketball wilderness for the past four years. That's how long the Owls have endured the reclassification process in their move from NCAA Division II to Division I.

The presents are all opened, and you got stuck with something you don't want.

It happens. I got plenty of cowboy shirts from my grandma when I'd grown out of them, or stinky cologne in a football helmet when I was eight.

I'll be honest here. When Mid-Majority founder Kyle Whelliston told me he was going to write a book about Tony Ingle, I had to do a quick google search to find out who the heck he was talking about. I learned that he's the head coach of relatively new DI entrant the Kennesaw State Owls. Coach Ingle won a DII national championship with the Owls a few years back, and was once the interim head coach of the BYU Cougars.

KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State head men's basketball coach Tony Ingle and the Fighting Owls have announced the 2009-10 regular season schedule in a statement released by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

CANTON, Ga. - On Friday evening, Kennesaw State men's basketball coach Tony Ingle was inducted into the Cherokee County Sports Hall of Fame at the First Baptist Church of Canton. In front of a crowd that neared 1,000, Ingle was joined in attendance by his family, Kennesaw State Athletic Director Dr. Dave Waples and NBA scout Bob Reinhardt. Included in his well-wishers were his former coaches from his high school and college playing days as well as former players.
